A retired police officer once told a good story of how a body found in Palm Beach was identified by the dental procedures done on it.  Crime scenes involving badly decomposed cadavers often consult medical/dental forensic experts.  Data gathered by the forensic dentist was passed on to dentists in palm beach with negative results.  Medical forensics gave race/gender by the bone structure.  Caucasian, data was sent to a cosmetic dentist stafford who helped pass the data. The cosmetic dentistry group was found.  The victim was a traveler from Scotland.  Next came DNA testing. After a long wait and many courses of action taken, the body was identified.

This story inspired a lot of kids in the neighborhood including Grandpop.  He became a forensic dentist against his father will because this field of dentistry is one that few venture into.  All would rather work on the living.  The family now have a cosmetic dentist Stafford and two dentists in palm beach.  The cosmetic dentistry group they are members of are reputable and humane.  I am forensic dentist and enjoy being one.  I still tell the story in the hope of inspiring other young minds to become a forensic dentist.
